We’re Hiring – 2026/27 Peterborough Swimming Pool Season

The District Council of Peterborough is seeking enthusiastic, reliable and community-minded people to join our team for the 2026/27 Peterborough Swimming Pool season.

We are currently seeking applications for:

• Pool Operators
• Lifeguards

These are casual/seasonal positions, with hours rostered according to operational requirements throughout the pool season.

About the Roles

Pool Operators and Lifeguards play an important role in providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable swimming facility for our community.

Successful applicants will need to be reliable, safety focused, comfortable working with members of the public and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Applicants must also be available for rostered work, which may include weekends, public holidays and school holiday periods.

Qualifications and Clearances

Applicants will need to hold, or be willing to obtain where applicable, the relevant qualifications and clearances required for their role, which may include:

• Pool Lifeguard qualification and/or Pool Operations qualification
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Working with Children Check
• National Police Clearance
• Any other required industry or Council training

Previous experience in a pool or aquatic environment is desirable; however, we encourage anyone interested in working at the Peterborough Swimming Pool to apply.

📍 Location: Peterborough Swimming Pool
📅 Employment Period: 2026/27 Pool Season
💰 Remuneration: Pay and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government Employees Award (LGE Award), including applicable casual loading and penalty rates.
