Dear Community Members,
Following the release of the ‘Goyders Line Medical’ Statement this morning – advising that they are withdrawing Medical services from Peterborough Medical Clinic as of August 8th, I advise the following:
I am contacting the Minister for Health, the Shadow Minister for Health, the Chairman of the Mid North Health Advisory Council, the Chairman of the Yorke and Mid North Health Board, the Chief Executive Officer of the Yorke and Mid North Health Board and Geoff Brock MP for Stuart advising of the situation and seeking help in resolving the issue.
This is devastating news for our communities, the people from surrounding areas and the travelling public, all who have need of the services provided from time to time or on an ongoing basis.
The logistics involved in travelling to other towns to access services is non-viable or non-negotiable in some cases and not what we expect as a result of living in a rural location.
We will work with any assistance providers or the Government to try to solve the dilemma.
