Medical Services in Peterborough update

Published 20th August 2025

An update on the medical services currently available in Peterborough.

The hospital now has Locum Doctors who will deal with Inpatients, Aged care residents plus any Accidents and Emergencies.

Everyone else will need to see their own General Practitioners in Jamestown, Orroroo or wherever you may currently go for medical services.

It is possible to have Telehealth appointments in certain circumstances ie: repeat prescriptions.

You can do this from the comfort of your own home or if you are not confident or do not have a suitable device, from the medical clinic alongside the Hospital.

These appointments are at specific times during the day - not random.

The Clinic will not be staffed unless there are appointments booked for that day.

In either case you will need to ring your medical practice, and discuss it with the receptionist. They will allocate a Telehealth appointment - either from your home or with assistance from the hospital staff located in the previous Goyders Line Clinic.

You can then attend the Peterborough Hospital Primary Care Clinic (previously Goyders Line Medical) and staff will assist you with your Telehealth appointment.

This is an interim measure being trialled and put in place until suitable medical staff can be found and relocated to Peterborough on a more permanent basis.
