Welcome to New Residents

Welcome to Peterborough!

As a service to you, the newcomer to our area, we have produced a ‘Welcome Kit’ which contains a whole range of information about our community.  We have included details on the groups and organisations and the services that are currently provided in the area.  This is available in a printed hardcopy from either the Council front counter, the RTC, or in electronic format here.

We are happy that you have chosen to live in our District.  Hopefully it won’t take long and you will begin to feel at home – and not only reside here but feel able to join in with the community and take part in the many organisations or events that make our community a better place to live.

We are always looking for ‘volunteers’ – so if you want to get to know people or find out how the town and district works – please consider volunteering.  You may have a talent, some spare hours or an interest in a particular field.  I am sure we could always keep you busy and would welcome your input.  Please contact any of the organisations listed or mention it to the RTC Staff and they will point you in the right direction.

The District Council of Peterborough is the Local Government body that looks after the township and District of Peterborough, which includes Yongala and Oodlawirra.

Please feel free to contact your Councillor if there are any matters of a Council nature, they may be able to assist with.

Local Government covers such a wide range of issues, but you are welcome to call into the office to enquire about any matters.

I am always available and can be contacted through the Council Office.  I wish you a sincere and warm welcome to Peterborough and District.
