TREE PROJECT VOLUNTEERS

Yongala Meeting - Tuesday 5th December at 5.30pm, Yongala Hall

Community Forum to be held - light supper will be provided.

Peterborough Program

Community members who sign up with the Council as Volunteers, can look after the trees which were recently planted in the town near the stormwater drain.  Volunteers will be provided with hi-viz vests with the word “volunteer” to ensure WHS compliance is carried out.  The Council is committed to working with the community including ensuring WHS compliance and Volunteer policies are adhered to, to ensure safety and wellness for all.  A recent inspection of the trees shows although several were damaged across the top from the frost we have not lost too many - so good days ahead. Council will supply a trailer with a water tank that can be collected from the Depot Fridays and returned Mondays if required.

Yongala Program

A successful couple of meetings were held at Yongala in reference to the Yongala tree planting program.  This program will rely heavily on the local community as the Council is unable to support the program by way of watering, weeding etc.   One hundred trees will be provided through Trees for Life once a decision is made by the Yongala community of how, where etc to plant the trees. Council will supply a trailer with a water tank that can be collected from the Depot Fridays and returned Mondays if required.

To become a Volunteer, please either contact Council for a form via Tel: 8651 3566, Email: council@peterborough.sa.gov.au, or download it from below.
