GP services in Peterborough to continue. See here for more information.

Update from Council and Local Health Reps, Jeff Oakley and Mayor Ruth Whittle (July 2022):

To All Residents of Peterborough and District

We are relieved to be able to release the following statement from Yorke and Northern Local Health Network.

“We are pleased to announce a new contract with Goyder’s Line Medical Peterborough, who will continue to provide general practice and hospital-based services at Peterborough Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

From today, GP services will continue to be provided at Peterborough Medical Centre by Goyder’s Line Medical Peterborough and there will be no change in the services available at the hospital.

The Goyder’s Line Medical practice has had a long association with the Peterborough community and this new contract will ensure this continues into the future.”

We would like to thank everyone who has worked tirelessly to bring about the solution to the problems experienced in providing medical cover at Peterborough.

Thanks to Dr Conway and her fellow Doctors from Goyder’s Line Medical, the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network – in particular Mr Roger Kirchner General Manager, Chairman Steve Richmond and members of the Health Advisory Council, Tess Noonan EO/DON Peterborough and her excellent and very dedicated staff at the Hospital/Nalya Lodge and anyone else involved in bringing this very unsatisfactory situation to an end.

Thanks also to the Triage Nursing staff and the many Locum Doctors who have worked for us over the past months.

Appreciation to Dan van Holst Pellekaan (past MP for Stuart) and Geoff Brock (sitting Member for Stuart) for intervention and support on our behalf.

This has been a very unsettling and stressful time for all residents in Peterborough and District.  We appreciate the support you have all given to everyone working for Peterborough.

Kind regards

Mayor Ruth Whittle OAM & Jeff Oakley
