COMMUNITY REJUVENATION - DROUGHT FUNDING 2nd ROUND

Please see below a list of the successful projects selected for funding from the $1M drought program – round 2.

Community Mobility and Connectedness

  • Free-standing shelter at rear of History Rooms/Print Shop
  • Construction of stage 1 railway track – Miniature Railway Association
  • Upgrade of kerb ramps – Main Street
  • Disabled ramp at Town Square
  • Library upgrades including accessibility and signage

Community Wellbeing

  • Fencing at Youth Centre court area
  • Art Centre upgrades including kitchen sink, flooring and external doors
  • Men’s Shed extension
  • Swimming Pool replacement pump and pump shed
  • Tennis court repairs
  • Fountain in Victoria Park lake
  • Chairs at Victoria Park BBQ tables
  • Town square seating and hand rails
  • West Park development, including Nature Play equipment and trees

Environment

  • Connections to the CWMS including Dorcas, Jervois Street History Rooms, Rural Transaction Centre, Senior Citizens Hall, Council house, YMCA building, Sporting Complex, Swimming Pool, Tennis Club, Town Hall, Youth Centre, Rotary Park toilets and Victoria Park toilets.
  • Yongala Sports Ground – new septic system
  • Solar panels on Jervois Street History Rooms, Main Street toilets, Rural Transaction Centre, Sporting Complex, Steamtown and Swimming Pool.
  • Upgrade of lighting at Rodeo grounds

Infrastructure

  • Removal of concrete tank at the Off-leash dog park, plus upgrade of seating and grass area
  • RSL internal ceiling
  • 2.7km of fencing and gates around Dawson Hall
  • Major maintenance of Yongala Hall
  • Painting of Rotunda
  • Decking renewal in front of Senior Citizens Hall
  • Shed replacement at Tennis Club
  • New toilets at West Park
  • Painting of front steps at YMCA building
  • Council office kitchen upgrade and front counter
  • Town Hall repairs to outside wall and curtains
