What is OPAL?
OPAL is a Federal, State and Local Government initiative aimed at working with local children, families and communities to increase healthy eating and physical activity levels in the region.
There are currently 20 different OPAL Council regions in South Australia. OPAL in this region is the only multi-Council program and encompasses the Northern Areas Council, The District Council of Mount Remarkable and the District Council of Peterborough.
A local OPAL Program Manager, Emma Young is based within the Northern Areas Council and coordinates the program locally. OPAL is shaped by the local community, working across many settings to create all kinds of ways for our community to enjoy healthy eating and to have fun being active.
For further information about OPAL, please contact the OPAL office on 8662 2018 or visit http://www.opal.sa.gov.au/
